For the gravegaurd unit i was wondering....
Heavy armor and shelds for the 4+ armor save
Heavy armor and great weapons 5+ armor save and +2 stregth but stikes last
Now this is gonna be most likely my main unit i need to hold as much units to them as possible so the rest of the ghouls can do there tricks so keep that in mind as well.
thank you again so much for the read and tips!!!
if your going for spounge, then you definatly want Heavy armor + hw/s
if your going for combat. then use the GW

Yeah, great weapons have become a lot more viable in the new rules since you can ressurect grave guard.
Me and Von took VC to the doubles tournament and had great success with great weapons, banner of the barrows and helm of command.
Against most units we were hitting on 2+, wounding on 2+ (with killing blow) and since we had a corpse cart and 2 vampires with guarenteed Van Hels (Forbidden Lore) we had allways strike first a lot as well.
2000AD's answer to all "How do VC deal with ..." questions: Forbidden Lore + 2 Power Stones.
Further answers will require more vodka.
Theres nothing really special enough for me when they have hand weapon on shield, good if you have one of those super combat vampires though. I've seen swordmasters loose to a unit like that, don't think it was even a vampire lord.
Although when they have great weapons they don't seem quite tought enough, if i was using them again i'd have to fit the drakenhoff banner in there. Then I guess i'd want the helm of commandant + banner of barrows and then things get too expensive. Maybe leave the last too out or the first one out too keep it cheaper.
If you've got a powerful enough vampire to keep bringing them back, I'd say go for the GW.
It will make them look scarier, and draw attention away from your ghouls and other baddies.
Or are they our goodies? I never got that straight...
