    Fell Bats?

I dont have my book infront of me but I was wondering if you have the vamp power that lets you make fell bat units bigger than the original do you get d6 wounds added or just one they are considered infantry according to the back of the book?

    thanks

They are classed as infantry, so they get d6 wounds per casting. There has been some debate on this, but I'm pretty sure this is correct. That they fly does not interfere with their infantry-status, as far as I know.

    I concur with Skilllet.
Yes they gain the plus d6 wounds, they are infantry for the purposes of the invocation of nehek, and yes this is open to horrible abuse. Enjoy!

But...They are flying units so should only gain one wound...But they are classed as infantry?

Dear God, what have I been missing out on? I can gain 100 pts of bats with each casting? Madness!

I didn't believe it until I looked at the reference sheet in the back of the VC army book. Be prepared to show your opponent that, too.

As stated, they are Infantry (as per page 96 of the VC book, but also page 6 of the BRB ), so gaind d6 wounds. For the other part of you're question, tag on the Vamp power Summon Creaures of the Night, and these units can indeed go above starting size.

It seems abusive, but then, they're only fell bats And even then, I dont want to have to buy 10 blisters of the things...

By casting ION on Fell Bats, you can gain many more points back than casting it on say, a unit of skeletons.

    6 Skeletons = 40 Pts

    3 Fell Bats w/ 2 wounds each = 60 Pts

Add summon creatures of the night in there as one of your vampires powers and you are gaining 20 Pt models that you never paid for!

EDIT: Bat swarms also count as infantry!

I play 40k i just started playing warhammer but i am going to analyze this book and find all of the cheese

The way you can deck out vampires and still give them equiptment its like player killer instincts and we can get killer combos with two buttons

Is there any way to get bats for cheap or a good way/other models to use? I have 4 bats, but i don't have enought money to have 2 units of 3 that end up being raised to 10 a piece!!!!!
