I was wondering how you are able to take the drakenhof banner.
its like 125 points if i'm correct, but I don't see any unit who can take a banner of 125 points. Do I miss something or not? I just started playing warhammer so i don't know alot about it. I would love to use the banner some time
thanks for the replies anyway
You can upgrade Vampires and Wight Kings to be your armies Battle Standard Bearer (BS only one BSB per list. They can take banners worth up to 125 points.
ok, thanks a lot guys, but this way I will get a very expensive unit with both the drakenhof banner and a BSB.
Should i use the banner in a army? or is it better to just use the points for other stuff?
I don't really think it is worth it. It would require a huge amount of points in a single infantry (probably) unit, which will be tough as nails but can be avoided and probably will be since basically nothing can scratch it.
ooh ok, so what banners are better to use? banner of the dead legion and cursed pennant of mousillon both sound like fun to me.
i'm planning to build a simple skeleton and zombie army first. so what banners are usefull for them?
Personally i save the Drakenoff for somthing like Blood Knights , somthin thats worth a fast regen , for your skellies n zombies you can raise them just as easily through your magic phase , banner of hellish vigor is great if you dont have a vampire available for the unit and want it to operate at a distance , banner of dead legion - causing twice unit strength is cool , but personally i save banners for my real smashy units ;D if you give us more of an idea what else you intend on using we may be able to help more - for example do you plan on taking graveguard?
p.s a wight king is nice for a BSB as it is 25pts cheaper than a vampire , but has better Toughness so provides a tad more survivability and frees up some points for a tastier banner.
well I don't have many models right now, but i'm planning on getting at least a unit for grave guard, cairn wraiths and maybe even a varghul. now I got is the battalion with 20 skellies, 10 ghouls, 20 zombies, a corps cart and a single vampire model. i would love to have some blood knights or black knights, but i don't have the money for that right now:p
the battalion is a great starting point , you could always use brettonian knights of the realm converted abit for black knights , theyd look better than the current GW models
plus its cheaper , and will offer a much wider range of tactical options
Im def using knights of the realm for my blackies-- with just a few actual black knight models
