Okay, here are the two setups for my vampire lord I am thinking of taking for my GT list this year. My question is this: predominantly I find myself taking the lore of vampires with my lord, although forbidden lore gives me flexability when I need it, so is Forbidden Lore worth it just to get the 6 vampire spells from him?
1) Vampire Lord - Forbidden Lore, Master of the Black Arts, Extra Magic Level, The Flayed Haurberk, dispel Scroll - 390
2) Vampire Lord - Dark Acolyte, Master of the Black Arts, Extra Magic Level, Avatar of Death, the Cavadus Crucias, dispel Scroll - 395
Also, on the note of the 'Avatar of Death' vampire power, can his skill be chosen from game to game in a torny, or does it have to be predecided before, and last for the whole torney?
The ability to get other Lores makes your vampire much more flexible. For example if you are facing Brets metal/beasts helps a lot. That said, I don't think changing lores will often be a game winner. Most armies that know that they can't stand up to a certain lore will stock up on dispell scrolls. That said, for the five point difference I think it's better to have all six spells than have one extra PD. I'd suggest running a few different lores in your next couple battles and see how it turns out.
