Official fluff I don't know but there are plenty of good books around:
Dracula by Bram Stoker for Carstein-like vampires (of course).
Nosferatu for strigoi.
Blood of roses by Tanith Lee (Necrarch ?)
The books of Anne Rice (Lestat is absolutetly Lahmia although he's a man).
