Hey guys, I have started a vampire counts army, and for my 2k list I have a total of 3 vamps, I have my main casting one, which is the new female vampire with the skull in her hand and everything. Now I'm looking for two vampire models to use as close combat vamps, I don't like the current vampire models, as they all have terrible looking faces, so I'm looking for 2 vampire models which look noble and proud and are males. If any of you guys know of a model or can find one for me i would be much appreciated.
It doesn't have to be an actual vampire model, or a GW model, I'm willing to buy something from reaper, avatars of war, or any other model that fits the size of GW's range of models. I'm also willing to do some conversion work if needed to make the models look more vampire like, and the rest i guess I'll paint them to be more vampire like.
Thanks for the help guys.
Depending what you want I could posible make it. Of course hope ya dont mind me making and keeping one for myself aswell. Basically I am meaning how r you wanting them armed. I play vampire counts too and have alot of older oop models. Conversions and current ones. give me moe details and ill work on a few and send ya pictures of them, If you like I can tell ya how i did em or we can arrange something else too.
Theres actually some really good looking Vampires in WoC range. The Vamps i'm currently using are a shieldless Sigvald and The Warrior in Bone Armour.
Remember, fight like an ork, but never dance like one. Unless thats your thing.
The Immortal Sons of Change (VC): 3-1-1
Thanks for the help, I was thinking of Sigvald, but didn't know how to convert him so he looks more than just a Sigvald in an undead army.
Both my vamps are made for combat, one has avatar of death, with heavy armour and shield, a magical sword, and a magical item that is a book, which doesn't have to be modeled on but would look cool i think. The other is pretty much the same, but has flayed hauberk, shield and a magical sword. If you could come up with something santawraith that would be awesome, although i would prefer making it myself, no offence to you, I'm sure you do great work, but I rather use models I make and paint myself. But if you can find a way to convert a cool looking vamp I would be very interested in how you did it so i could convert something similar for myself.
Thanks for the help guys.
none taken I will tinker with the ideas and if i come up with something suitable ill send ya a tutorial of how to make em yourself and hope it helps. That way you can change them how you want. I love making models is all and always look for a challange. I got a few ideas if this turns out ill reply to this thread. I am not looking to make and sell models so if your good at converting I can just say how i did mine and maybe spark a idea for ya.
Sigvald is (to me) the quintessential representation of an Avatar of Death Vampire.
I am going to be fielding him as just that. I am adding some of the VC flair in his base dressing and color scheme, but keeping the majority of his actual model style intact.
Make his skin pale and vampiric, keep his armor dark and slightly worn. It should pull off enough away from the WoC version.
You could make him more like the character from the old Dungeons and Dragons book. Get a bit of fine chain and trim off his sword and shield. Give him a spiked chain for a weapon.
Alternatively, you listed some excellent sites for other models. Reaper is incredible. Search 'Vampire' and also 'Anti Palladin'. The anti-palidans are especially good, with lots of skulls and plate armor. They look awesome, but they're too thin for Chaos Warriors so they fit vampires just fine.
I use one of their old female rogues (oop i think) and she's quite possibly the sexiest model in my collection. And I say that in a completely non-scary way.
I use some older blood dragons or the male vampire from freebooter (check my avatar)
Thanks guys, I actually checked out reapers sight, and there is two models which will do very nicely, and look great.
Although if you guys come up with anything new I would still be interested, as i don't plan on buying them soon, I still have a lot to paint and build right now, they will probably be the last editions to my army that i get.
Thanks for all the help guys.
I want to include the Red Duke in my army..
Seems like a bit of a mash of a blood knight and a black knight.
(Red full plated armor riding a spectral steed and leading a host of wights)
Just slap a kastellan on skeletal mount and call it a day? or are there some other ideas floating around?
