Knowledge is for everyone... When it comes to experience, it is quite individual.
WiP TK Army! - Questions?
TK Army Project! - Ask Nagash!
all depends on the role i have in mind for the vampire in question...
for example, my caster general runs w/accursed armour which is combined w/crown of damnation + book of arkhan. she's suported by a bunkered vampire w/helm of commandment, while the book helps mitigate the appauling I4...
when taking lore of beasts, i end up with a S7/T7 4+ ward monster who lashes out with a staggering 7 attacks!!! (come and fight my dragon of a vampire!)
meanwhile, a typically combine the armour of night on a war machine/skirisher/missile troop hunter when facing armies like empire, wood elves, shooty high elves and similar. the combined -3 to-hit penalty means that even those silly elves need 6's to-hit me at long range! (cannons tend to be a problem, though i'd much rather sacrifice a lone vampire than have a cannonball thwack my general on the first turn...)
if i need a vampire to support the combat ability of say a skeleton unit, then it's the flayed hauberk all the way!
of corse, if i want a fighty general, then i always go for the cadaverous cuirass for it's no KB/poison...
cheers!
I like night shroud and sword of battle for a hero vamp, and accursed armor and sword of kings for my wight king (in a black knight unit with BoB and usually supported by the helm to alliviate the poor WS) and then a lone vampire runs around with either flayed hauberk or the armor of night

We had a discussion at my gaming club the other day about the way the Avatar of Death equipment is worded because of the word 'either'.
Does it mean you have heavy armor and can choose either the great weapon, two hand weapons, or hand weapon/shield - effectively giving your character the Black Orc 'Armed to da Teef' rule?
or
Does it mean you get the heavy armor and either one of the three combinations of weapons, chosen at the start of the game, foregoing the other two?
I'm pretty sure it's a 'one of the above' scenario in that you can only have one of the three options.
Apotheosis; I loved the mange, I'm sure it will be an awesome movie.
realitycheque; 2 hours into the game and I'm back to being a space lesbian
The Flayed Hauberk is the only armour I use a lot, probably all my games in fact. It's not that the others are bad it's just that I will use dread knight if I want to armour a vamp or I will simply not give them armour because they will not be fighting much.
