Ya I am a old vampire counts player and I have the old skeletons and I just wanted to know is there anything that I can do to give my skeletons light armour, like some parts from another army or something like that, so it looks like they have the armour on them.
You could always make use of GreenStuff Or elven armour may also fit...

WiP TK Army!
I wouldn't worry about it so much, considering the new skeleton models have next to no armour on them either. The old skeletons had a head with a helmet and a chest with a piece of armour on it, so you should be fine.
But if you really want to put armour on them as a project I would advise either using green stuff to make tiny little plate to stick on there chest, then make some straps to wrap around them with green stuff.
Or if you still have a lot of old skeletons head, or don't mind buying another box of new skeletons, you can convert something with models from another army, like high elf spearmen, empire swordsmen, bretonian men at arms, and so on.
I would take the armour off of Empire Swordsmen if given the chance. In fact, if you really want a unique army, you could mix the Empire men and Skeleton parts to create an Undead Empire army. All of course if you can't be bothered with green stuff.
buy some helmet headed bits, they're pretty cheap
and it would be easy to lop off the old heads and cement or glue the new ones on
a helmet is light armor right?
