Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys, jsut wanted to post this vampire lord for you to critique.... going in a 2k army which wont suffer terrible from crumbling if he dies....
+1 Magic level
Forbidden Lore (Lore of Death)
The Flayed Hauberk
Crown of the Damned
Sword of Might
The Gem of Blood
Total = 450 p
So what Im thinking is this guy is really able to do it all. Hes able to buff up the magic as well as hold his own in combat. I see him being useful to tackle down any fast moving units trying to bait my blood knights, as well as going up as a large character killer. Hes got a 2+ save, 4+ ward save, and the first wound hit against him will rebound on the dealer on a D6 score of 2+. Combine that with his ability to add wounds to his stats from the Lore of Death spell and he can become strong enough to take on nasty problems such as stagedons+skink mages or even dragon characters or bloodthirsters with support from another unit.
Alot will say its risky to use your general out in the open, and also that hes really expensive, but my army has 10 PD with a bound vanhel's spell so Im fairly confident I can give him cover if needed in a sticky situation. Hes also just plan mean, being on foot not many models can get an attack off on him. CR is what could do him in, so I will have to avoid any solo battles on larger units with him.
You cannot have Crown of the Damned with Gem of Blood as they are both Talismans
doh!... yeah sorry just realised that... always forget about that stupid rule .... but alright id replace the gem with the cursed book, so he should be able to win the first round of combat with any heavy hitting target he goes up against.
The 5 extra points saved leaves enough room in my list then to do an interesting trade... I wonder if it would be better...
5 black knights + standard w/screaming banner?
not sure which I would like to take more...
