What do people use for Abyssal Terrors??
I have thought about using a Balrog, it just has that kind of appeal, and looks the part.

I use the old Winged Nightmare, that;s pretty much what the Abyssal Terror replaced.
2000AD's answer to all "How do VC deal with ..." questions: Forbidden Lore + 2 Power Stones.
Further answers will require more vodka.
Not something that I've actually had the chance to play with. However Abyssal terror is a fancy way to say "big dead thing with wings" which could make pretty much any winged monster work, including griffons, wyverns, pegasus, manticores etc. The Winged Nightmare is a good start, though it's not merely limited to that. Heck if you want to make a winged Stegadon, you could statistically work it out as an abyssal terror if you REALLY want to.
Also I'd agree that in a scale and sheer level of apparent power, the Balrog would be a better Zombie Dragon than Abyssal terror.
I used to use a Vampire on a Balrog as a Winged Nightmare in the old rules which is the new Abyssal Terror, so I'd say go for it if you want as long as it looks the part (which I think it does) and is on a 50mm base it will be fine.
One thing to point out though is if you plan on entering and GW tournaments with it, using Lord of the Ring models in a WFB army means you won't be able to be nominated for a best army or painting awards as far as I'm aware.
BEN DIESEL FTW!!!
