Just wondered if Vamps get normal armour saves, as I been looking into Vlad, and he doesnt seem to wear armour, but gets the ward save.
What about the others, do they get a basic armour save?

Vampires get armor saves if they wear armor or you buy armor for them. Generally though, they don't have any special protection outside their toughness (which isn't all that amazing really) However armor is DEFINITELY worth the points to upgrade them with. Especially the general.
The general rule is that if there isn't a special rule or item, they don't have any armour save. This is a bit of a surprise when coming from 40k, because basically everything there at least has 6+. So no they don't naturally have a save, but you can upgrade them to have one.
As teh others said:
You have two ways of getting armour onto a Vampire:
1) Buy the appropriate Vampiric power (from the Martialle line of powers)
2) Buy magical armour
Generally speaking I would apply the latter, unless I really wanted a great weapon, or in case I wanted a mundane lance and barding in which case Dread Knight is the way to go, and then buying an enchanted shield or something similar to up the armour save a bit.

If the vamp is mounted anyway then they would get a 6+ without the need to buy anything but that's rubbish and needs topping up with armour.
