can anyone tell me the best melee hero possible *items and such) for a necrarch army. my army is heavy magic so I need some melee in it now.
also any other units I could consider adding for melee purposes
Bag of Chips, Chaos Warmaster

Only death will be guarding your angels, silently
Cripples joining arms in clamour
Institutionalized for the rebirth, the herd will be hunted
Necrarch Vampires are not supposed to be a combat army thats called having your cake and eating it too, i think that the best you can do is a Wight Lord with the Sword of the Kings.
Nightmare Creature great evil in female form who feeds upon... *screams* who's only weakness is *more screams*
Even a Necrarch vampire is better in combat than most human heroes. They are supposed to be magic so giving them magic boosting equipment is generally more useful.
A wight lord or wraith would be better used but any kind of sword will work well on a vampire. The one to raise skeletons/zombies every time you kill an enemy is good.
I've believe you're referring to the Tomb Blade. I've never been particularly wowed by that one to be honest, especially as it's only 5 points cheaper than the Blade of Unholy Power.
I'm always surprised people don't go for the Crown of the Damned a bit more; even with a Count there's a 1 in 4 chance of being ok, and then a 1 in 2 if in combat. With a Lord, it's 1 in 5 which isn't too bad.
Re. the actual post, I'd go for a Wight Lord personally with the Sword of Kings and Cursed Shield, giving a very respectable 3+ armour save in combat.
