Since Vamps are immune to Psychology, does the crown still make them Stupid? or Does it bypass that rule? I'm assuming not but figured I'd get a clarification. And is it worth taking the crown? Or is the penalty not worth it.
All units within a Vampire Counts Army are immune to pyscology, inc nec's and w/king, so the rule would have to effect Vampires otherwise it would effect no one and there would be no point in GW having added it to the rule book.
Saying that I have no intention of ever using it because i hate stupidity and I doubt many/any other people use it so maybe it shouldn't be in the rule book anyway!
Unless there are fans out there?
Being immune to pyscology doesn't make you immune to stupidity, only panic, fear and terror.
you would normally be immune to stupidity but the item trumps the immune to psychology rule, and i take it very often on my combat type lords, LD 10 isn't too much of a liability for failing so far i have failed it once, and that was a 4500 pt game against ogres who had grecious gold tooth and made all 3 of my vampire lords stupid every turn and i faild the crown vamp lord on the first turn. I am a big fan of the 35 pt 4+ ward save, it is probably one of the better ward saves out there.
No, BustaCaps is correct. Look up immune to psychology and you will find that in 7th edition it only applies to fear, terror and painc, not other kinds of psychology.
I like the item, it is worth the risk when you have such high leadership (vamp lord) anyway.
I have literally never lost the leadership role on the stupidity. 4+ ward on your general is priceless. I take this along with the flayed hauberk on almost every list I make.
I stand corrected, i usually play below 2000 points so can't a lord. Will have to give a try anyway.
