I have been using manifred as my lord till now. However the people i have been playing against dont like special characters and have asked that i create my own lord. So i created a list and was wondering what everyone thought. I am still new to this so i thought second opinions would help!
Vampire Lord 205 One Magic Level 50 Walch's Bloody Haubrek 45 Sword of Battle 15 Blood Drinker 40 Dark Acolyte 30 Master of the Dark Arts 50 Avatar of Death 20
Total 455 pts
It all depends on what you want your vampire to do for you. The way he is built, he seems all over the place. Using the armour and avatar of death wastes the heavy armour gained from it. I would try to define what you want and focus building something efficient to that end.
If you want a Mannfred type caster, you could go with:
Vampire Lord 445 pts
Vampire Powers: Dark Acolyte, Lord of the Dead (your choice of infantry really) Master of the Black Arts.
Items: Skull Staff, Wristbands of Black Gold.
this guy is your typical james bond villain. He stands behind his lackeys and sends hordes after you. With +2 to invocation to the unit type of your choice, your opponent will not be able to match your casting with his dispel dice in any way. It's a good way to make sure you replenish your troops without worrying about lucky dispels. this guy will however not be going to combat unless you are totally sure of his safety.
If you want a good rank and file general purpose caster, you could go with :
Vampire Lord 244 pts
Vampiric Powers: Infinite Hatred, Master of the Black Arts, Dread Knight
Blood Drinker, Walach's Blood Hauberk, Black Periapt
This guy will rack up kills for you very efficiently. But he also has master of the black arts, which lets him effectively cast and extra spell a turn. He his fast and can still hide in your own units. with a 1+ armour save and 5+ ward, he will be a tough nut to crack for sure.
Just to let you know- its Mannfred not Manifred
