I refuse to waste my precious power dice on Zombies
I've got 50 Zombies on order for my VC army which would be purely for raising, but I started wondering if that would be enough...
So, what's your personal best for maximum number of Zombies raised on the table at any one time? Anyone gone as far as to create 2/3 hordes of our shambling minions? Feel free to share stories as you please...
Used to be a strategy to Spam IoN and the one staff to create insane amounts of Zombies, pretty sure people have pulled off 150+ in a few rounds of casting. This doesn't tend to make friends though as it just bogs down the table and is kinda boring and static as games go.
I still have to do more Zombie tests, but all of my being trembles when I think about wasting buff spells and Crown of Commandment on zombies. Still certainly doable and might be very unexpected when an enemy is facing WS 10, I 10 Always Strike First (reroll) zombies with +1 to S, Why would we do this (because we can, and even zombies need to be feared and respected sometimes), and I'm sure it would lay waste to the other General's plans when his decent core unit get trounced by zombies unexpectedly (sometimes expectations can be a very powerful force against our enemy).
I ran an IoN spam army in a tournament last edition and raised every zombie i have (200!) onto the objective over 3 magic phases.
Don't feel too sorry for my opponent though, i still had trouble holding onto the objective against the 3EotG+slann army.
