pretty much as it says in the title; I just think it would take less conversion to make them in to vampires, compared to chaos knights, knights of the realm etc. For mine i'm gonna replace the shields with the lizardmen oldblood shield pack (to add spikiness), and add either skeleton spears/dark elf spears/grave guard weapons to the ends of the lances (also to add spikiness). My only concern is the distinctive tall HE helms they wear, and there are no designated vampire heads around so I'm not sure whether to file down the helms and keep their dragon designs or find new heads and convert them with dragon paraphenalia. Any ideas?
I don't think (having had a quick look at the Dragon Prince miniatures) that there would be too much of a problem. I think they'd make pretty good Vampire Knights.
Where you around in the time of the last army book, where we still had Bloodlines? You could mention something about them being Blood Dragons or something, I think that would be fine with most.
I've actually just finished turning some dragon princes into blood knights. I've got some extra Dragon Princes from my HE, and the new 25% (rather than 2-3 cheap core units)points really hasn't left me with enough points to use them all, so I donated them to the fledgling VC army I've been collecting. It works really well, I also went with the Oldblood shields. Paint them up all evil looking and most people instantly assume they're blood knights. It's only upon closer examination that they see the distinctive helms. I like the idea of adding grave guard weaponry to spike them up. Were you thinking about using the handweapons or great weapons? I think both could make it look pretty cool.
Glad to hear it works, now all I need is the money
Well, first I was going to see if the great weapons didn't look ridiculous if I stuck them to the ends of the lances, they might be too big though; if they are I'll just add hand weapons to their backs and saddles. Then I'll probably go go with dark elf spear tips on the lances if I can get some.
