This is the big question. I mean the models are great, and the stats are phenomenal ... but who in the right mind would pay that much $$$ for them? Anyway Im hoping to make a temporary substitute for them, 10 models that I will use untill I come across some real blood knight models, be it a garage sale, ebay or local store trade. Any ideas what I could use as a substitute for them? It has to be heavily armored obviously, and preferably look good although I will gladly get busy with conversions should the need arise.
Also, I want to ask exactly the same question about black knights. Here on the other hand the problem is opposite, the rules are nice and the price is fairly affordable but the models plainly suck. Any ideas for some good substitutes for them? I found a lot of fairly good looking models from just googling around, but the problem is finding a good looking skeletal steed. Im looking for skeletal steeds clad with heavy armor, not just raw bones...
Most folks I've talked to about this are partial to Knights of Bretonnia + Undead bits for the Blood Knights, though Chaos Knights can work if you're good at filing off all the "WE ARE CHAOS" stuff.
Black Knights are a bit trickier. I'd wager Tomb King Cavalry with some armor bits pilfered from or filed off the Brets or Chaos could do the trick, though.

gamezone miniatures have great models
other than that, black nights crossed with grave guard is what i was thinking of
They're cheap as chips in the USA only $99, try buying them in NZ, $194.
For the 'beefy' look, those Chaos Knights work great, but take alot of work to file away all that daemonic looking iconography... Bret Knights are a good alternative for the more tragic 'fallen hero' style looks and can also mix with empire bitz quite well for a traditional knight templar look too.
For the daintier look that's more akin to say the styles of the Underworld films, try combining the new dragon princes & cold one knights!
The dragon prince horses look fantastic too boot!
If you know any of your mates that are going to grab the new zombie dragon/terrorghiest kit, maybe ask to pilfer their unused bits? (unlikely as it is, but it's worth a shot!) Otherwise, I'm sure the main bitz webstores like the bitzbarn will have those shiny new bitz in their stock soon'ish and you can scoop them up then!
My Black Knights are made using Brettonian Knights with undead bits on them (heads mostly). For Blood Knights, I think the best deal:looks is the High Elf Dragon Princes kit. Any kind of elf cavalry really as elves and vampires have basically the same body structure and taste in armour.
knights of the realm use men at amrs shields the big square ones and men at arms helemts the english world war 1 ones and use bits from your skeletons for chunky shoulder pads thats how im guna do mine any who ill post a pick on my thread.
ok so the army book just came the blood knights are vampires yes they have the vampire rule level 1 wizard is this for each blood knight or for the whole squad a squad of 5 casts 5 spells or just 1
That's not what the Vampire rule does, bro. The Vampire rule allows you to march with the Blood Knights, and also allows any non-Vampire Undead within 6" to march as well (it also lets you wear certain equipment). Only Vampires (the characters in the Hero section) get to cast spells.
this si why i win so much i think i misinterprat the rules alot lol thought it was to good to be true.
