Vampire counts are now on advance order.
The Rise of the Vampires | 2012-01-06 08:53:12.0 | What's New Today | Games Workshop
This is awesome, I have long wanted to start up a VC army. Will buy the book and magic cards as soon as they come out, and probably make the army a summer project after months of planning.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Jesus christ some of that stuff looks amazing. Been flicking through some of those units and hexwraits look like they will be a must. Etheral fast calvary with terror that ignore armour saves WTF??.
"my heart pump gangsta"
And I'm in love again... Why am I FORCED to spend all my money on this beautiful stuff...
As for stats wise, I'm liking that ALL Vampires have had an attack boost (up to 4 for Vamp Thralls and 5 for Lords!) and the Hunger seems like it will help out in a pinch. Dire Wolves get Slavering Charge again (so hopefully +1 strength on the charge) and Skeletons are likely to be as cheap as Tomb Kings ones (have light armour but have Ld 3). Flying monstrous infantry.... YES. The BPK (Big Plastic Kit) looks amazing, but at W and T 5 it's not as sturdy as I'd like. As from what I can gather the Banner of the Barrows stays, which is epic, and the T 5 on Crypt Horrors just looks epic. As it stands, the rules are the thing I'm most expectant for, as I can find out what all these things actually do =D

I'm not impressed by the two large kits, as they look like they've been thrown together with bitz and GS.
I'm concerned about the other bloodlines. There's no new models for them, and the current models have been taken off the website. I hope the other bloodlines weren't written off, or I'll be placing my force on ebay ...
They'll most likely either keep with the current style (which allows for bloodlines, they'll most likely have balanced them to make them equal power-wise) or they'll have had more special characters made who haven't been released yet, don't be so negative about it =)
I love Krell.
Love the look of the Wight King and Krell. Those models alone will probably force me into starting a Vampire Counts army later this year.
My Lahmians are happy for;
- Skeletons being viable.
- New black knights & hexwraiths. I'll start with just 2 boxes for now, but xmas demands another 4!!!
- Coven Throne aka Passion Wagon. Think I'll also pick-up a second one and convert it into a more Nehekaran-looking Mortis Engine too...
- Varghiests! Just add Anubis-like heads and they're perfect. Perhaps xmas for those though.
My Lahmians are saddened by;
- No Neferata as a playable character
Still, at least my army of skeletons, wolves, wights and spirits is finally viable now!
