Hi fellow vampire borthers and sisters. I'm Count Verdurakh and I'm new to this community!
- that was my presentation
now then as the title says one of my friends just started to collect Chaos.
he bought a army from someone on the net...
I'm used to play either against Empire or High Elves wich I ussually beat with ease.
but this new army is a big treath to my legecy. I jsut can't find any way to counter these...these...monsters called Chaos Warriors. with the extrem high stats and with 4 attacks (with 2 hand weapons, frenzy, chosen) and 4+save.
what should I use against it? I the knights are among the same problem.
although I could use my own leet troops as wights. although they will proberly not last long.
so I now ask of your assitance to beat this monster and take him back to where he came from
Ethereal units maybe? 4 attacks cant hit you if they're not magic and since he frenzies he cant avoid charging you if you get them in range. Tie them up further by summoning hordes of zombies behind them and hopefully pick a few of them off every turn. Finally charge them in the side with a vampire or maybe some ghouls since they would get 3 attacks on a charge.
the real problem is that I don't dare to chrage them with something that can die easely since He just kills it and will add to CR
and even if chraged in rear or flank he will get about 12!!! attacks on each side
ethereal have I also thought of. but they won't last many turns cuz of CR but for a while atleast
since when does ghouls have 3 attacks on chrage?? :glare:
You could use the ghouls to bait them then flee, leading a merry chase round the board while you obliterate the rest of his army.
What bloodline r u using?since those warriors have only s4, black knights with a vamp would work wonders, especially in the flank.

I adopted a cute lil' viking fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
currently I'm using Blood dragons, since they can get high number of attacks with high Ws
but that idea with ghouls are pretty good
How about the appendix list with nothing but Grave Guards and Black Knights???

I just normally tie them up with hordes and hordes of zombies (90+) And then smash their flank with calvary of some kind. Strigoi (my blood line) works very well.

I know how you feel Sin. My bro used to play Khorne and I was loosing about 8 skeletons with light armour a turn (without combat resolution).
But the thing you need to know is that magic shooting, combined charges, and heroes leading the attack are the main answers.
Magic shooting for me is good, now I don't know about you but rare and special have a minimal presence in my army, as I can't raise them back. So I can shoot at my enemy healing up whenever I need to.
Though summon ghouls help me heaps as I can get rid of their wizards, draw out fire, (from the wizards trying to protect themselves), and give me more time by denying march moves. Try and shoot down his main unit/s, (the one with the Lord), thus reducing its overall potential
Anyway the only way to beat chaos in combat is with thralls. Thralls have a higher I than normal warriors, and so will kill them BEFORE they can attack. Believe me killing 3 warriors and then only having 2 fight back is alot better than the whole hog of 5. To help you make your ranks into 4 wide so less warriors can be in b2b with your unit.
Hope this helps.
How victory may be produced for them out of the enemy's
own tactics--that is what the multitude cannot comprehend.
"Quantity has a Quality of it's own"
that is some pretty good ideas
although magic is still hard cuz he gets one dispel of each of his units with mark of khorne.
but he dosn't use any wizards.
mostly just pure force (hey 5 warriors that can hit is enough  )
then we come to the chooice of bloodline
currently I'm using bloodragon since they can get more attacks
thrall with 8ws and 5 attacks are pretty nice
but strigo have one less attack +1 str and can reroll misses
take bigger blocks of skellies to hold up his warriors and then flank smack him with your hard units, thralls, grave guard, black guard, etheral besties and such like
