need help vs. dwarfs in small scale games, only about 500 points. if you could help, that would be very great. thanks in advance
Ghouls are your friend here, with their poisoned attacks, helping to wound those little chubbies. Also they help soak up any missile fire as they're skirmishers.
I'd also get some dire wolves, as their high movement can easily outrun those stunty legs and provide you with a nice rear charge once his trusty dwarves hit your main block of zombies/skellies.
also, either get a necromancer for replenishing your numbers, or a vampire thrall for hitting hard and fast.
What bloodline do you use anyway?
In 500 points games, VC do quite nicely.
As I remember, without the book being easily at hand, you need a necromancer around the place otherwise your army will fall apart. You could use a necrarch thrall with the level 1 wizard bloodline but imo it's all getting a bit complicated.
Ghouls are nice, as are fell bats imo - they can fly around the place and pick off a war machine, or something similar.
How many thunderers does he bring along? Put it this way, if he's not going shootey than I'd certainly go with dire wolves, but if yes then I'd avoid them. You can afford to lose them in bigger games but at this level it's too many points to lose - which invariably will happen given the dwarven shooting capacity.
Particularly at this level, unless you're playing quite riskily and taking GG, etc along then you're going to beat him through winning in combat resolution, not in actual hits. So flanking units and/or raising ability behind his units is useful.
Oh yeah, a nice one for this level, take the black periapt along. He won't be able to use his power dice so you'll get a free one every turn. That'll even things up slightly so it'll be 5 VC power dice vs. 4 Dwarven dispel.
Mordheim: Middenheimers & Night Goblins
Apparantly, Sylvannians are good in 500 points, cos they get two free bound items (grave markers) so you save valuable points on a Necromancer, which you can invest in more units.
