Welcome to Librarium Online!
Being as the Flayed Hauberk is so damn popular, especially on Thralls, I was wondering how everybody actually represents it on the model. As I just don't know how to.
My only current thought is to take the Blood Dragon with the two-handed sword, do a headswap and paint the armour dark red with black ink on top.
What is a Hauberk anyways?
400 POSTS WOOHOO!!
Yeah, that blood dragon I think was designed with the flayed hauberk in mind. How i'd paint it? Blood red, quick very light dry-brush of bleached bone / skull white on upraised bits and then wash it all in chestnut ink... or red ink even. You'd have to try both and see how they look.
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.

A hauberk is a long tunic made of chainmail. Why is it so popular? A Von Carstein or Blood Dragon thrall can take mundane armor, and magic armor doesn't give bonus saves. A necrarch thrall would only want the bone armor. A strigoi thrall can't have any armor. And a lahmian thrall would never look nearly as sexy covered in the flayed hauberk.
A necrach would want the ring of night or the crown, but never the bone armour that thing SUCKS! Never take it.
asquabbling they squandered and gambled
till dawn did freeze their drunken dice
Man, I'm a dope. I just reread the codex on the flayed hauberk and see why it's so good. I was looking at as reducing a single point on the armor save instead of dropping it all the way to one.
