Do you guys think that specific blood lines work better against certain races?
For eg. strigoi best against empire as summon ghouls can destroy war machine crews...
necrarchs will suffer against a anti magic list
von carstein can summon things to
there will be differentses but not that major a khorne over tzeentch for example.
how do you more expierienced vampires think about this
Of course, but really you should pick 1 bloodline and stick with it, so it really doesn't matter. Some people like to customize their list a little bit for playing specific opponents, which I think is ok if you both do it. However, changing entire bloodlines I don't think is quite ok, as I think that isn't fluffy at all. (Customizing your army is just like sending out a force for a task, changing bloodlines is like playing a different army).
I disagree, unless you use Sylvanians the only difference is two or 3 models between the bloodlines. Switching from one to the other is hardly different than changing your army list depending on who you play, its like choosing which lore of magic to use or certain upgrades for specific models.
Despite that, I would still be more inclined to stick to one bloodline against any army. And as I said, the difference is only a couple of models, if you think you are really going to suffer by picking the wrong bloodline against a given army you are focusing too much on the characters. Sure some would be better than others in certain situations, but as a whole i think they can fight any army with equal ease when your whole list is written up properly.
I think it depends on how you paint everything up. My army reflects my bloodline. Everything is a bit more grimey and dirtier due to playing Strigoi. If someone plays a red toned army with a Strigoi vampire it seems a bit strange to me. So basically, it all comes down to the overall paint scheme.
Confusion will be my epitaph.
When I began playing WFB last October, I was drawn to VC, in part, because of the different bloodlines, and since then I've played mostly Blood Dragon and Von Carstein but have experimented with Necrarchs and Strigoi. Once I have those Lahmians painted, I'll give them a whirl, too. The problem is that it takes so many games with a bloodline to learn how to play them, but on the other hand, that keeps the game fresh (and keeps me from spending even MORE money on another army.)
I think there is no HOW an army should be played. That destroys the fun. We all play it however we want; maybe we win, maybe we lose, maybe winning or losing is related to army choice, maybe not. I just think it's an individual choice.
I've never really found that a certain bloodline works better against a certain race. Its more like picking a bloodline to reflect how you would like to play.
If you like magic, go for Necrarch or Necromancer.
Character killers = Blood Dragons
Control = Lahmian
Rank & File killers = Strigoi
Balance = VC
I personally prefer Strigoi as its more benificial to take out an entire crew of models instead of just one expensive character. Their abilities are solid and coupled with a decent sized unit makes for an intimidating army.
That, and ghouls are just fun to summon
If you understand the fluff behind the bloodlines, then no. What we have is what there are. And you can easily set up any of the bloodlines to kill any army in the game. Just a matter of changing your tactics. If you want a game where you never think and just do, then go play 40k as the Tyranids.

I think that they all fair pretty well agaisnt all armies but say Necarch army agaisnt Khorne Big maggic- dispell so it may not fair so well ETC
I like blood dragon the best. They can be used agianst all armies. For me, Lamia is the bloodline that has the least use. Strigoi work damn well against elves...
