Does VC have any form of ranged attacks such as a catupult or shooting?
To answer your question no!!
However the Sylvanian list from the storm of chaos does have some crossbow men, so you could try that list if you need range.
The Banshee is considered ranged, but only at 8". Also, the Lahmians can take the Bow of the Asp, which is a very nice item. Otherwise, you'll have ranged only if you play Sylvanian.
And of course DoW are an option for normal VC armies, not Sylvanians though. With DoW you can get stuff like cannons.
Other than that, as mentioned crossbows for Sylvanians and banshees for either.
They set it up with no range, because Vampire Counts are the best army anyways...they had to hinder the forces of the night somehow. :p
righto we are the best hehehe :p
There is no range except for magic missles.
i love everything about this army but no shooting. I play orks in 40k which cant shoot well so I want something that can shoot. But the summoning and easy to paint horde is calling me. not to mention the converting is can do
Have you read much about the Sylvanian list? Strewart's tactica for it (over in the tactics forum) gives good general info about the army, conversion ideas, different ways to play it, using different troops, etc. You could have your shooters that way.
I felt the same way when I started the army, wanted something ranged, but since I was playing a Vampire RPG, I thought it'd be fun to keep my fantasy worlds all aligned.
One thing I'd warn you about though, although the Sylvanian list does allow for crossbowmen, this will all be at BS2, which is even worse than the Orc arrer boyz you are used to. Generally the strength of a Vc army will never be in the shooting.
