What are some decent tactics for vampire counts fighting the Greenskins?
I would say zombie speed bumps to make the fanatics come out so they don't damage your expensive knight wight units. Other then that I would say big units to ensure outnumbering and thus insuring fear is maxmimized. Magic missils would be key for panic checks so maybe take at least one guy with lore of death.

Give one of your necromancers the Rod of Flaming Death, a unit hit by it needs to take a panic test. And indeed, like 311 said, use zombie speed bumps to lure those fanatics out of their units. And goblins are fairly poor CC fighters, so your skellies should hold out with your invocations while your bigger units make flank charges.
what you talking schidzo ? skellys beat goblins in fuight as long as they arnt abnormaly big gobbo units
just keep making new units ( 20 is good ) and let tyour vamps killem ( as always )
vampire counts ( under construction)
am thinking about starting it again
currently working on :
second unit of skellys
most likely thing next :
another box of skellys .....
Goblins shouldn't be difficult at all really.
The core of their army is going to be something that fights equal to a skeleton, except you have fear and the never breaking thing going on for you.
Also, remember if you summon a new unit of zombies/skeletons within 8 inches of the night goblins, the fanatics go in RANDOM directions, and are not released properly.
being a greenskin player i'll give you some help . goblins in 2000 points are easily going to outnumber you , even in my army i have about 400 models. and i can still have 10 levels of magic and a giant . goblins will outn umber you , i mean come on they are 2 points each and with ard grots (goblins with light amour , hw and shield) they can survive for long agaisnt zombie attacks, night goblin shouldnt be a problem and fanatics shouldnt be either. gaint howver are hard to kill i mean hard especially without artilery and they can eat your expensive charartors and jump up and down on you and crush whole units under his feet. greenskin magic is really really good with such things as foot of gork and gorks warpath so maybe have a dispell scroll or two. thats my 2 cents.

Eh? I have the O&G army book, but I've never read that.Originally Posted by OmnipotentKiwi
If you check the rules with Fanatics, it says something about units or characters appearing (teleporting for example) within their range, the Fanatics are released in random directions.
I've used that technique to great success against O&G. Couple of Fanatics tore through a unit of black orcs
We called GW and they confirmed the strategy.
All gobbo units (the fighty ones) Are usually 30+, its how gobbos win... so your not really going to find any non "abnormaly big gobbo units", unless your playing against a really bad player.Originally Posted by creme egg
As long as you have a hero in the skelly unit they should do fine, though a flank charge w/ wolfs couldnt hurt.
The flank charge, as you mention, is key. It's how we win combats regardless. I always, always try to have a flank or rear charge reqady when I enter a combat.Originally Posted by Zombiekatfizh
