How many zombies can you squeeze out of a regement box?
Depends on how complete you want them to look... You get a lot of spare heads and arms so you could have quite a few with just those bits sticking out of the ground, I've heard close to 40 but I wouldn't be too sure of that. Of course if you have a decent bits box you could combine bits from there and make stacks.
If I was aiming to get the most out of just a box of zombies, I'd probably try for 30.
I've assembled two boxes and each time found less to work with than the skeleton box. I came up with twenty complete zombies. Yes, there were lots of heads and arms left over, but no torsos or legs.
My first box of skeletons gave me about 28. My second only 18 because I broke two legs and was too lazy to cement them together (would've only had 20 dead on that time).
Im not sure about the zombie sprue but for skeletons I got 30+. Assemble 20 for starting the game and create 10 for raising (basically arms and heads). Also I combined one unit of skeletons with men at arms and got around 35.

Warseer Blood Bowl League
I did a little something with the zombie box and managed to get 40 zombies.
There was "the regiment of the walking legs" and "the spare parts"
The spare parts look like they are rising from the grave and the walking legs are zombies that have been cut in half but continue to fight (they cant feel pain after all :p )
Apply tons of blood on the walking legs for maxium effect ^_^
"Heresy is like a garden weed, it won't stop feeding until you... BURN THE WHOLE DAMN GARDEN WITH A FLAMER, BURN IT, BURN IT TO HELL!!!!!" "Is there a wittle puppy in the garden? ITS A DAEMON! BURN IT!"
I got around 40 from my first box, and close to that on my 2nd. I pretty much did the same as inquisitor by using some bit for complete models. A head rising from the ground, a single hand, etc. I also made sure to add some grave stones to those bases to fill the base out a bit.
Yeah, i have a few zombie hands just sticking up out of the ground, and i dont get any mean looks :p. If you really try at it and mix in putty or bits, you can most likely get around 35-40 easy.
My buddy who plays Vamps also uses the tombstone bit from the Skeleton and Zombie sprues to represent extra models.
