Welcome to Librarium Online!
i remember the days......
...when you gave your necromancer lord the staff of damnation and watched your entire army move forward.
...when you tried casting Vanhals' Danse Macabre 5 times in a row..
...when a wraith with the Talon of Death and 40 zombies could hold up ANYTHING!!
...when you'd watch Nagash take out a unit of 25 chaos warriors by himself.
...when a blister of zombies cam with SHIELDS.
...when a charge from a unit of wights with a wight lord would kill Golgfag and his ogre's in one turn. bless those D3 wounding spears.
...when there wasn't Vampire Counts or Tomb Kings, when it was just UNDEAD!!!
...when a unit of 5 mummies could hold up anything.
...when a necromancer lord was a combat beast.
...when vampire lords had S7 and T6.
...the main thing i miss, out of everything.............the original Heinrich Kemmler. he was so wrong back in the day.
god, how old were you when you started playing?
lol i was 13 and i'm 22 now.Originally Posted by will_sanders

i still have...
60 metal zombies with light armor and sheils
25 metal skeletons with heavy armor
15 metal mummies
3 old style wraiths
15 mounted wights (they are STILL the same now)
all the old vampires and necromancers
3 old style screaming skull catapults
20 old style ghouls
I wish I had a chance to field the screaming skull catapult.
I really miss wight champions leading every unit. 37 points for a three wound, t4 guy that can deal out d3 wounds. yeah, one attack wasn't great, but he stuck around.
Yes, because liches are now used by the Tomb Kings.
Necromancers sound like they were pretty damn powerful, especially compared to the pillow bags they are now.
Remember Nagash and Black Coaches?
Sounds like we started at around the same time. Back in those days it was "I charge Tyrion at Nagash, and uh, the rest of the two armies can just wait for a bit (picks up 25 dice and an army book). This might take a while..."
I played Dwarfs and we only ever used to play mega battles on our old ping pong table. The only time my brother's Nagash was ever killed was when I hit him dead in the face with some sort of rune-encrusted cannon.
I can still remember with terror my brother's unit of 100 skeletons led by a Liche, and he winces whenever he hears the words "Throne of Power." Don't get me started on Deathmaster Snikch, the amount of times that guy wasted Tyrion I thought my High Elf friend was going to cry...
I personally really really miss the Undead. I did NOT like the split between the Tomb Kings and the Vampire Counts.
Having all the dead nasties in one army was incredible for making pretty much anything you wanted with all kinds of creepy Undead imagery. Now you have to be careful not to stray too far in either direction or people will say "Well, I like what you did but's it's more of a Tomb Kings army in my opinion."
I don't think they need to be as uber as they were, but it would be nice to see them recombined.
I'll stop my wishful thinking now. They are seperated forever at this point.

STAFF OF DAMNATION!!!!! it was a Vanhal's Danse Macabre 36" around the caster!!!!!
i bought the new army book, i'm gonna start playing as them, but i completely displeased witth the lose of the TRUE Vanhal's Danse.
it used to be, when you cast it, a unit can, march, charge, fight or shoot. now its just move 8" buuuuut the marching within 12" of the general is kool. kinda makes up for it.
the extra fighting comes from Hellish Vigor, which isn't an extra round, its just fighting first next round, eh.
