I knbow the book is a bound form of the Dense macrabe spell but Im new to bound spells. Can I use it and then cast a spell and can the enemy disspell it?
You cast the Bound spell as any other spell - only that it automatically succeeds. It's akin to knowing an additional "3+ to cast" spell and always casting it with a score of 3 (without any dice usage).
A spellcaster who has the Book can cast Vanhel's Danse Macabre (or any other spells he/she knows) normally in the same Magic Phase.
Your opponent can dispel the spell as if it was a normal spell with a casting value of 3+ and went through on a score of 3.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
I love the Book of Arkhan, but I've had that blasted thing crap out on me on several occasions. Despite its tendency to suffer meltdowns, it's worth the twenty-five points.
Speaking of items with a chance to burn out, I'm also big on taking the Staff of Damnation. Seeing zombies go first and reroll misses is great fun.
You always get to cast the book at least once, even if it breaks first attempt. Everytime you are using it is becuase:
1. Summoned unit (dire wolves from table edge also!!! This has taken out many war machines crew!) in magic phase to charge
2. Dire Wolves or Chariot Normal movements and reform them freeely to resposition for LOS or get the flanks!!! Magic them in
It has always brought it points back I always hope to get that 5 when i roll for nerco spells two use both.
