I was doing some mental math earlier and realized just how much stuff I have for AoS. I saw that I'd be filling out the army comp pretty soon and this made me think about 0-1 units such as Spirit Hosts.
I know in 40k if you fill the force org chart you start another and in doing that you'd effectively have one 0-1 unit per force org chart. In Fantasy, do we do something similar? Or, even if we're playing with a 15,000pt army are we still limited to the 0-1 unit?
Technically, yes. This is the precise reason why HE suck in big games - they have way too many 0-1 units in their army.
Quite a few players think that it should be 0-1/2000pts being player or 0-1@2000pts, 0-2@3000pts, 0-3@4000pts, etc.
Either one of those house rules will solve the problem pretty well, methinks.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
When I looked at the list I was thinking once a person hits 5k that one could adopt the +0-1 like GW did for Special and Rare unit slots. That'd make it look like this:Originally Posted by Teron

4k-4999 5+ 0-6 0-4 0-1
5k+ U S U A L 0-1 (i.e. it'd become 0-2 at 5k, 10k it'd be 0-3 and so forth)
If you're playing with mates, you could get away with it with their permission, but you won't be able to take more than one unit in an official tournament.
It's a shame, as it would be nice to mix it up a bit more every now and then.
Wood Elves 2/0/1
Orcs & Goblins 0/1/0
Next Army - Tomb Kings
I couldn't see a tournament fielding more than 3000 in which case you wouldn't be loosing much with the 0-1.
