No, I haven't had that problem with any of my mounted figures. If I did, I would do what I've done with other models (most recently Treekin). I'd use needle nose pliers to gently bend the model into a working position before priming it.

Yeah bending them is the best option, just make sure there is padding around the model so you don't destroy details with the pliers. You can also try warming it up with a hair dryer, that might be plastic models only though.

I have that model but I've mot glued it on yet as I want to paint him eventually and it seems like it would be easier to paint it before glueing it to the Nightmare.
My Necro of that model doesn't fit perfectly either, but I just kinda rest him on there. He fits good enough that if I rest him on there, he'll stay. I never glued him on though. He fits well enough to stay on during game play, and not during game play I kinda like being able to take him off the horse.
