Welcome to Librarium Online!
The greatest concept that I have heard-regarding the release of the new rules- is about fear and autobreaking.
I have been listening to various rumor sites and other online sites, and have been hearing rumors about changing the autobreak rule. I dont know how it would change or if it will change at all, but lets just say it does change, what would it change to?
Even more importantly without the rule as it stands now, how would vc survive?
There are many rumores before major releases some true many not, but even though I dont personally believe in this one, it would be interesting on what it would do to vc. Any thoughts?
Auto break can be percieved as a very powerful rule and I could see GW changing it. I find that GW want to make all the armies standerdised (maybe I am just being paranoid) and VC is one of the few armies that are a bit off the wall.
So what would they do instead? Probably make it that if you win the combat and oputnumber the enemy while causing fear the enemy get an extra -1 to their Ld (prehaps even if they are stubborn) or maybe they suffer the effects of fear next turn if they pass (i.e hit on 6's). I really hope they don't change the rules.
To counter this VC may get better troops such as heavy armoured skeletons.
Hmm I've heard rumours about changing autobreak, I have no idea what they were though..
It would indeed make games a bit harder for VC, but I don't think that alone would be a huge problem. Would about the extra nasty mscast table? For an army that usually rellies on magic it could hit us fairly hard. I've heard that a double one wil be instant death, imagine if our good old vampire lord general got that in turn 1. Might as well kiss the game goodbye.
I've heard you'll only get hand weapon and shield bonus if your WS is at least 4, that would make zombies a lot more inviting than skeletons I think.
Ouch! VC will really need a rethink of all their tactics if these rules are the case. I hope we get something in return. Now if I was being paranoid I would say that GW will release some new models like Werewolves etc for VC to make up for the changing rules and guess what looks like we will need to buy them. It really gets on my nerves when GW change the rules just to make more money. Anyway rant over.
yeah, I dont like them changing the rules, it seems just last year that hey released the new edition but its been what now? 4 years? anyways I think if they get rid of the auto break rule they will re construct ALL of the rules for the undead to make them more balanced, plus more alive units I think.I dont know, noneof us can lol
What you are we once were. What we are you will become!!!
i have heard that ws4 rule change as well. I dont know how important that will be to some armies, chaos, but i do see spears comming into play as actually being worth the points. I can see stuborn being changed as well.Originally Posted by strewart
one thing i can see is if you outnumber 2 to 1 then you still auto break, what do you think about that one?
A nasty miscast table is the last thing I'd like to see, I just played a game this afternoon and go massacred by lizardmen becuase my necrarch general got a miscast on turn one, rolled a 3, and couldn't cast for the rest of the game. A harder table would just be worse, last thing we need is a magic heavy army with a miscast table like the ogres. I haven't heard much about new stuff for us, but yea new models would be cool, and redoing fear could be a good or bad thing, I don't have much of a view on it becuase most of my opponents pass their leadership or are immune.Would about the extra nasty mscast table? The ws4 rule never made it, or so I´ve heard...
Anything might change, who can really tell. I doubt we will get screwed over.
And I will take every rumour with a grain of salt. Its still a good 4-5 months left. Alot can change during that time.

thats a really good point, but i still thought that the ws4 thing was in for sure, i havnt heard of the new magic miscast table, but i think its nessesary, mabey it will reduce the amount of magic obsessed armies out there.
