Okay, so we all know that a new rule book should be out sometime in the next year. Maybe this winter, if you listen to some rumors. I wonder what people would like to see updated when the new book is released. What new units, revamped units, new models, etc. you'd like to see.
I wish they'd redo the skeleton sprues to add skeletons for other armies. The Cursed Company models look great but are too expensive for people to build whole units with them.
I'd like to see the costs of the common magic items drop as it's been doing in other army books (Didn't OG get a deal with those?!).
Pardon me while I apparently follow you around the boards.
All I have to say is that if the new figures are as cool as they should be, then I'll probably be picking up a 2nd army when this stuff comes out. When I was looking around and choosing my army the first time, I liked the idea of a VC army, but couldn't get over how horrendous the figures are. The skeletons need to be redone badly, and the zombies should have a cranial reduction of about 20% As for the vampires themselves, the idea has so much potential, so hopefully they'll be vastly cooler this time around.
And you're dead on about the zombies. They're heads are too large, and I hate the model with the cape.
The ghouls can also be much better. I've seen stunning ghoul models from other companies, and GW should follow suit.
As for the vamps themselves, yes, the current batch suffers in comparison to the new releases. There's ample opportunity for GW to make some really fantastic vamp sculpts.
I wonder if they'll release Grave Guard as a plastic set, like Black Orcs have been for O&G.
I don't foresee them redoing the black coach, though it would make for a really awesome kit, kind of like the new giant. Lots of opportunities for conversion already on the sprue.
If GW wants a decent idea of how to properly do zombies, they need to steal some of the Rackham sculptors. I use a similar argument for the "what else can you do with skeletons" argument.
I was going to use Confrontation sculpts for my undead Blood Bowl team, but the conversion effort didn't seem worth it. In the end I used the GW plastics, and I still feel dirty every time I play that team. I can't think of many figures in the undead line that shouldn't be updated.
I'd like to see some vampire plastics done similar to the Empire General kit - lots of different options. If they can get on the ball with these new figures, I'll buy 'em up without a second thought. Honestly, I kinda wish they'd go all plastic for this kinda thing, but that's just a pipe dream, I think.
Hopefully they don't waste this opportunity.
i'd love to see some more special characters, maybe one for each bloodline and a revamp (hehe, good pun dave) on the bloodlines. they seem to be a bit suckish especially lahmia.
Also, i'd love to see banshees become like up to 3 per choice but operates as single units like the new tau sniper units. that would own,
also a revamp (god i love that pun) of the trial lists would be awesome!!!
You are not prepared...
or to highlight the important bit... this here is about the vampire bloodline ideas that were brought up when the strigoi was first creatednow i dont know if there has been anything more on this (as i havnt been subscribed to WD for years now, and fade into and out of the warhammer scene) but is there a chance of a new bloodline beastie out for us all?The last one I won't reveal here, because it did not go into the book, but we will use it in the future as a new Bloodline. Curious? Watch this space…
I like the Skeletons plastics. Don't care about Zombies, don't use them.
I want plastic Ghouls.
I think Ghouls will go up in price a few points.
I want a new bloodline.
I think I won't like it.
I want better rules for Wraiths.
I think they'll be abolished, boo.
I want a veggie sub and some fries.
I think this one explains itself.
I want Grave Guard to go back in time to the better 4th/5th Edition models with halberds and cloaks.
I think you shouldn't say the new ones are better.
I want plastic, or at least non-sucky, Knights.
I think everyone does.
I want Banshees with 3 wounds.
I think everyone does.
Amen.I want plastic Ghouls.
And I dont really care about the knights, I just buy brettonian ones and convert em.
Well, I'd say we won't see new wolves, which I guess is fine. They're nice and easy to paint as is.
But the fell bats need to be improved. And so should spirit hosts. Of course, those are easy to convert, too.
I totally agree with the Fell Bats, they are not good models. The Spirit Host neither, but I've only ever seen one person use the actual models, as it is so easy to have something else represent them. I use Ring Wraiths from the LOTR range myself, and think they look rather cool.
Second on my list are the skeletal horses. I don't mind the knights, but the horses are just... aaaaargh. They p. me off every time I see them.
As for the book, I think we've got it pretty good, so only tweaking is needed there. For example Lahmian bloodline powers, but if the bloodlines are going that will fix itself. I really hope they still keep some distinguishable differences between different vampire lines though, as it gives so much variety in the book, and in the armies on the table.
My one major issue with our army book is the magic items, specifically the weapons, as have been disgussed before. If I ever take a magical weapon for my vampire, it's usually a Sword of Might, from the common items, and that's just not right.
Oh, and about the wolves, I'm fine with them looking more or less like real wolves, as that is what they are. Personally I use wolves from the goblin range, and never regretted. My brother tried convincing me to use chaos hounds, for that evil corrupted look, but they are just wolves, dead wolves, but wolves none the less.
