I would like to start out by thanking Blackhat for taking a chance on a crazy idea. Keep in mind that this is a test of how this will work out for a larger tournament. The hope is that if things go well, we can do another one with more contestants.
So here is the explanation
A votewar is a tournament that will be setup in your basic bracket system. The way it works is everyday there is a vote. The vote is between two armies. Voters need to sit down, review both armies, sit back and picture the battle in their head, then vote for which they think will win. These work best not if you think of the armies in terms of the miniatures, but as a real breathing army.
At the end of each day a poll will close and the army with the most votes will win and move forward in the brackets. Then there will be a new poll with a new army for a day. This will happen over and over until there is 1 army still standing over all the others.
So here are the rules
1. Armies shall be from the standard Warhammer universe.
2. Armies can not more then 3000 pts.
3. No Unique or Special Characters, just your standard heroes and lords.
4. I will be accepting armies in first come order.
5. I will be only accepting 3 armies for each nationality.
6. All votes except for the last battle will be 24 hours from 10pm to 10pm eastern time (America East Coast).
7. The last battle shall last for 3 days.
8. There shall be 16 armies for this vote war test.
OK so here some things to keep in mind
• I am not competing for fairness reasons.
• When you PM your army to me, give it a name, I am going to refer to your army by name, not by the army designer.
• This is a test, there maybe some issues that develop. If it does I am sorry, but it is better to resolve the issues during a test match.
• I am not sure how long it will take to get this officially started, but ask questions and discuss sooner rather then later so we can expand and refine the rules before the tournament begins.
I think its a great idea.
Its a nice way for people to put their army lists out there to see how they would do and how other people think they will fair.
I've been in a local store's vote war, but for a different game. They are full of suspense and a lot of fun. Its almost like a soap opera or a sitcom, you keep checking in to see how thigs are doing.
I fully back this idea and hope that many more people will join me.
I was thinking and after my head stopped hurting I wrote this post.
For those of you who wish to particpate in this vote war and are submitting armies please name your heroes, lords, and any other important unit.
I have talked it over with a few people and I believe that voters should be allowed to post their opinion of who should win the battle. I think the best way to share that opinion is through the telling of that battle through story, poem, or other dramatic sytle.
To prevent every telling from having a different name for a lord and readers getting confused characters should have names.
Also, FYI I am going to post an army soon to just show you the kinda style I want people to use when PMing me their army design. It won't differ much from the system the forums use, I just don't want every army being different for the convience of the voters.

I think it's a great idea also.
Will it be Warhammer only, or will you include some 40K matchups as well?
This one is warhammer only. However, if this turns out well I am hoping to make this a big deal with a full 64 armies for both WHF and 40k.
Also, anybody can join this tourney. I already have 1 army list that means 15 more spots available.
Warhammer only is fine.
I have a 2000 point army of Lizardmen, maybe 2500 points if I really push it.
Am I to understand that you only want people to use army lists that they have models for, or will you be excepting peoples 'dream lists' of armies they wished they had? ^_^
And where do I get the advertisement for your game, I'm unclear on that?
There are no rules about where you get the list so feel free to do a dream list.
As long as the Army adheres to Warhammer rules and follows the instructions in this forum you army is good for the tournament.
Advertisment is coming, my friend is still finalizing it.
Sounds like fun, I will be sure to vote!
Yeah, Please PM them to me.
