As you undoubtably know, the voting perod of the current votewar round expires at 8 pm (GMT+1) tonight, but as IĀ“ll be celebrating my 50 month aniversary with my wonderful girlfriend tonight, I wont be here at that time. I will return to count the votes and start round two at noon tomorrow, but that wont mean that you have more time to vote in, as I wont count any votes cast after 8 pm. There are many really close battles, so I have to be strict about it, I cant allow a battle to turn after the time has expired. I just thought that would let you know.
Since Sareld has said that the voting ends at 8PM (GMT+1), you just add 6 hours to your current time. Your math is indeed correct. Good luck to all armies duking it out!Originally Posted by Lost Nemesis

I'm sorry, Wamp. I said that because Lost Nemesis lives in the same Time Zone as I do. There'll obviously be some adjustments it you don't live in Eastern Time, but that doesn't matter. The voting is over anyways. I shall follow suit, but I'll skip one clash. I already know it's outcome, and I like it.Originally Posted by TheWamp
So round 2 looks like having:
Dark Angels (Librarian+ML), won 6-2 v's IG
IG (Grenadiers), won 11-0 v's Scout SM
Dark Sentinals, won 7-2 v's IK Sons
Chaos (Mech BL), won 7-6 v's Tau
Eldar (Biel-tan), won 8-6 v's IG
Dark Angels (Strike force Chauron), won 8-3 v's Orks
Tau (Vior'la anti SM), won 9-5 v's IG
Death Guard, won 10-3 v's Mech Tau

Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
A little analysis:
Only 1/4 of the IG made it through.
100% of Dark Angels are through.
2/3 of Chaos
1/3 of Tau made it through.
All the Orks are out.
After round 1, 5/8 of the remaining armiers are MEQ.
All remaining armies have a 4+ save or better (Tau, Grenadiers and MEQ's) coincidence?
The closest battle was Mech Black Legion v's Tau with just a single votes differance. Didn't one army have to play a late entrant. If so why not the Tau army to give it or the army yet to play a chance. Or have it play the near defeated Black Legion?

Because then we have 9 armies to fight round two, still a odd number. And if the Tau army just walk through we have 10 armies, which wont work later on, 8 is the best number.Originally Posted by Wings of Doom

With 10 armies: After round 2 we have 5 armies (odd number, then the closest looser will take the walk again. After round 3 we have 3 armies left. Then the final will either be a three-way match or we simply says that the biggest victory in the "semi-final" (round 3) will automatically make it to the final.
Therefore, I'll say no the Tau army shall not make have another change. Even though it is mine (no surprise)
I hereby officially close round one a bit too late, but better late than never. The current status is:
Danish Devils (IG)
Aussie vanilla Marines (SM)
1k sons (Tzee.. whats-his-name chaos marines)
Tau 1500 (Tau)
Tau for votewar 40k (Tau)
Da Rampagin' Gruntz (Ork)
Kommisar K's Kute Kadians Krave Krunchy Ketchup (IG)
The Vagrant Response: 43rd Occupational Defense Force (IG)
THOSE WHO MADE IT TO ROUND 2:
Dark Angels (SM)
B Company, 1st Battalion, 47th Lentoskian Fusiliers. (IG)
Tempests of Blades (Beil-Tan eldar)
Dark Sentinels (Deathwatch SM)
Death Guard (nurgle marines)
Black Legion Mechanised Infantry (CSM)
Task Force Lions Hand. (Dark Angel SM)
The Vior'la Anti-Marine Strike Cadre (Tau)
In this first round of votewar, we have eliminated a lot of illegal and hopelessly unbalanced lists, I do hope that the lists for the next tournament will be legal at least. We have also eliminated some really good lists, either because they lacked the public appeal, or because they came up against an even better list. Tough luck, but thats life. The thing that matters is that we have had some really great tactical discussions.. keep it up ^_^Arakiaz pretty much nailed this one. On the side note, the player of the Blood Knights have withdrawn, because he thought that it was unfair that the one he should have gone up against should have fought two battles just to gt to round one, mow thats sportsmanship! We all owe Zeus a sportsmans cookie! The closest battle was Mech Black Legion v's Tau with just a single votes differance. Didn't one army have to play a late entrant. a) People have too much confidence in saves.
b) Saves is a far too large factor in 40k.
Personally, I think that b is the right answer, and I sure hope that GW will tone down the importance of saves in the future editions of 40k. The difference between having a 5+ save that will be negated by almost every gun in the game or a 4+ save, that will save you from to 50% of all small arms fire is simply too big IMO.
Now, lets get to fighting! For practical reasons, this second round of votewar will continue until noon on wednesday. I will set up the battles ASAP.
