Ok here is what I just bought:
32 Warriors (1 big unit with Kazador in center/ full command)
2 10 each units of Thunderers - no command
1 unit 14 Rangers w/ full command
13 longbeards with full command (immune to panic - hold flank wont have to take break test if others flee)
Does anyone know how many points this is?
What advice/ changes should I make - I was thinking another box of plastics and then start building up my high elf army which I plan as follows
at the moment 24 SH in 4x6 units
either 3 or 4 chariots (can't figure out if I'm allowed 3 or 4 in ~2000pt army)
plan on adding 2x5 Reavers
1 great Eagle
Again anyone know how many points this is (still waiting to find a deal on the army books...)?
Any advice would be appreciated.
I want the dwarves to be a well rounded army but the elf army I want to be all cavalry - win gloriously or lose gloriously....
Also can I take some od the HE cavalry as allies?
I am trying to help someone put togethor a DE army that might be a match for either of the above - any thoughts?
(I was thinking of taking Chaos warriors as allies instead of DE - is this legal - that way she could have solid troops as well)
Special characters arent all their cracked up to be,your better off with a normal lord. Rangers are crap,so they scout, they also can cost over 15 pts for a unit that can be crushed easily away from your battle line. Longbeards are alright, but ironbreakers and the other elite choice are by far a better option. One is stubborn when with the general(better than panic) and the other has gromril armour, making them extremely hard to kill in combat (T4 and 2+ save anyone?)
Also, you are allowed 4 special slots in 2000 points, and chariots can be taken 2 for 1 special slot. So having four and 2 units of reavers is possible.
Dont rely on special characters and allying with.. DE and chaos with Dwarves and HE.. Armies are meant to have their pros and cons, dont take pros from a few different armies and skip the cons.
