Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'll be starting a new Daemon's army for Fantasy when they release in may. I'm wondering since I play 40k also are the models legal for both games or is their an issue with the square and round bases?
I think you are ok to use Square bases in 40K, but Round ones in Fantasy dont really work.
You do have the option to use round bases infantasy, but you must remember to build custom movement trays that coreectly fit the round bases into an equal amount of space that the square bases would take up. Custom movement trays aren't difficult to make and this option would easily allow both uses, but would mean that you would have to make special trays for characters to stand on when they are not joined to units.
In 40k the base sizes aren't nearly as important and any 25mm, 40mm, 50mm square base would be perfectly fine for mounting your models on so they coul dbe used inboth systems. Round bases in 40k are mostly for convenience since it is a skirmish game. You might catch some grief from organizers at tournamnets, but usually I'd suspect you wouldn't.
Square bases in both games would be the ideal option, but isn't the ONLY option.
They are right about using round bases, in fantasy. When you get you demons box, there will be round bases and square bases in the box.
I was putting some 2gether the othe day.
