    Note: I intend to use the Silver Helms with the War Banner as a Retinue for my Commander.

    The basic strategy that I'm shooting for is having shooters in the front, followed by infantry/elites, followed by cavalry/chariots. When the shooters break, that should open up my footmen to charge the front of an enemy unit and my cavalry to flank those units. I tossed in a Great Eagle to hunt out enemy war machines.

    This is my first time making a WHFB army list, so I'm not sure how sound this one is. Do I have too many archers/seaguard with bows? 8x2 does seem a bit much, now that I think about it...I could probably allocate those points to make another core unit.

    And my mage...should I keep it at Level 2, or should I just drop it down to Level 1? If I do that, I can probably work the points to get to Level 1 Mages...I don't know. Thoughts?

    Drop the Talisman and add another scroll, and drop him to lvl1 =P . Keep channeler, though.

    Dont take any command for this unit, and dont bother taking so many. Take 10, its a nice number.

    Lothern Seaguard seem like a good idea, but they arent. When they fight, they cant shoot at stuff, and when they are shooting, you have to reform (spending a full turn) to get them into ranks so they get to fight properly. They are not worth it at all.

    20 Spearmen (250)

    Good strong choice. Maybe add 5 elves and run them 4 wide 5 deep.

    I wouldnt take command on this one, as I assume you will use this unit to back up your spearman blocks, and thus their Banner has no other effect in the game but be 100VP for your enemy if he captures it.

    Take a Champion, and stick your Commander in here. Keep bannerman with warbanner.

    They cant have Warbanner, since your Silver Helms allready have it. You can only take 1 of each magic item, even if it is a Common Magic Item (which only means that all the races can use them) . Give them Banner of Ellyrion for sneaky charges, or Banner of Arcane Protection combined with Amulet of the Purifying Flame for your Champion for a unit nearly untouchable by magic. Enchanted Shield on your Swordmasters isnt only illegal, since your Commander allready has it, but its really not useful on a Champion, and especially not a Swordmaster who cant use a shield with his 2 handed Greatweapon when in combat. Rather take Amulet of the Purifying Flame of the Blessed Tome.

    Use to back up main block units, good.

    1 Great Eagle (50)
    Take 2 of these, if you can. Very useful.

    2 Repeater Bolt Throwers (200)
    Always good to use.

    Drop the sea guad, and command for the archers and get one more eagle maybe some more swordmasters.

    Keep the swordmasters at 10-12 strong, no use in wasting pts on them beign huge, as their strength is their attacks, not their numbers.

    drop the sea guard they suck... and swordmasters get shot down if they are in too great a number...

    Yeah, they do. If you are playing like a twit. Protect your swordmasters from shooting the best you can, and they will be allright.

    This list comes out to exactly 2000 pts. Hopefully this one will do a lot better...I don&#39;t know if this is what you would call a tournament worthy army, but I&#39;ll play around with it. I have a friend who just started building a Dwarven Slayer army using the list from Storm of Chaos...Good Gawd, those things are just plain disgusting. I hope that I can hold my own against those little bastards.

    If going against dwarfs (slayers more so), get the cloak of beards as it will be incredibly usefull when alot of rune encrusted weapons are pointed in your direction, thier hero or whoever you are facing will lose all of teh runes from one of his items, whether this is is his weapon, armour, or shield this can only be a good thing. It also has a few other rules to it too, I don&#39;t have the rule book with me right now

    yeah but how many peopel are going to have a fully tooled up runelord in a 2000 point sgame?
