EDIT: AS ALWAYS, DOWNLOAD FILES AT YOUR OWN RISK. ~DavidVC04
I just finished making a program in which you can battle your friends online in a nice game of Warhammer FB. My program has the following features:
-Army Editor that edits in a text color coded format. Here is an example of an army file:-Choose what color you want your units to show up as.begin army
Matt's Beasts Of Chaos
My First Army!!!
Wargor And Khorngors
Mark Of Khorn (Frenzy)
Two Hand Weapons
Mark Of Khorn (Frenzy).
Mark Of Khorn (Frenzy).
-4'x4' Board and you can load your own board image.
-Chat with the person you're playing with.
-Place, rotate, and move units.
-Add and take away models from units.
-Place 3", 5", Flame, and Fallen Giant Templates.
-Look at the To Hit and Wound tables while in the program.
-Roll x amount of D6
-Roll Scatter dice
-Roll Artillery Dice
-Look through your army and your opponents army.
-Unit stats and information show up in program.
-Add notes to a unit in game in case you need to remember something.
-Open structure, players control everything.
-Please note you still need your rulebooks to play! No army information or game rules are included!
Here's the download: Click me! (Press F1 in game for controls)
-DirectX 8 Compatible graphics with Surface Support
-1024x768 Resolution capable monitor
-An internet connection
-The following ports must be forwarded on your router if you have one: 47624, and 2300-2400
-If you are running Vista, please follow the instructions on this website to "install" both COMDLG32.ocx and RICHTX32.ocx that I have included in the zip. Click Here
-Those are the only things you should worry about
To play one person leaves IP field blank, and the other person puts their IP in. The program gives you your IP address, or you can get it here.
Use ArmyEditor to make your army file, open up BeastsOfChaos ExampleArmy for an example.
Thanks for your input guys!

Sounds good, I made something similar in flash. I never finished the sprites though, otherwise it worked pretty well.
Which language did you use?
Game Maker, I've been using it for 6 years so I figured it would be the easiest to program this in.
Cool, I've heard about that. Does it have it's own language like Flash (Actionscript)? I thought about trying to make my game again in C++ using the SDL, but it would just seem like I was repeating myself
Yeah, its got something conveniently named Game Maker Language (GML).
EDIT: Would you pay for a program like that Stonehambey? Or no?
I don't have a lot of time to play these days, so it might not be a great investment for me, even at £10.
As for other people, I'm not sure how you'll fare to be honest. Remember that vassal is free. And let's not forget the fate of lorenz, since a price was put on that it became a shadow of it's former self in terms of activity.
You can make money in other ways, host it on your site for free and make some money from advertising, like adsense. Then if it's a hit you might get some more serious advertisers, and build up that way.
Did you actually use GML or Game Maker's icon drag and drop system? Paying $10 for a game is pricey for something that is probably sprite based and free somewhere else. Lorenz completely bombed when they started to charge, and it didn't even resurface when he drastically lowered the price. Adds are probably the way to go, a banner on the website to download your game can easily net you many times the $20 it cost to get Game Maker in just one month.
Ok, free and ads it is and did you not see my post before? I've been using GM for 6 years, I only use GML.
Put the Download up for you guys to try.

To be fair, you didn't actually say you used only GML or not. I actually like to use the GML and have the drag and drop stuff help format things, it really is handy, and you don't have to read through pages of code to find what you are looking for.
The Army Builder doesn't work, it can't find some file.
I only use GML, I feel that D&D slows me down. The only D&D I use is the Codebox. Anyways, what DLL is it missing? Because those are "standard" DLL's but I may have to bundle them with the zip for some people.
