Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm a regular 40k player but i am staring to learn WFB at my local GW. As some of you may know there are ussually three levels that you have to pass to play any decent sized games. In the first level all you are allowed to use is one core choice, next its two core and a hero and finally 500pts. Each level takes a minimum of 4 weeks.
I would like any advice or changes to this 500pts Brett army list:
Virtue of Audacity
Total = 147pts
Paladin - Army Standard
Banner of Chalons
Virtue of Discipline
Total = 99pts
Knights of the Realm x6
Total = 168pts
Peasant Bowmen x10
Total = 85pts
Grand Total = 499pts
Any advice or tips on how to change this list or use it to its full effect would be gratefully accepted. Thanks
Is that a Border Patrol? At such low points Bret's are at a disadvantage because of the mandatory two characters.
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
Get rid of all the sheit on the bowmen. No need for standard and champion. What's braziers?
Well, for the points that you got from taking away that, a few more bowmen
Ok i'll take those into consideration and play around with it. Thanks for the advice.
By the way:It makes your archers shots a flame attack.What's braziers?Its just part of the GW n00b levels that teach you the rules etc. A 500pts army is one of the specifications for the third and final level before sunday night gaming and veterans. Just to give you some experience in controlling an army (supposedly)Is that a Border Patrol?
Okay, what I'd do...
Cut the braziers and standard on the bowmen, use the points to make them skirmishers. The villein is neat, but only take him if you don't have the extra 2 points to buy another bowman.
Cut the Kotr unit down to 5 and ditch their banner. Then field the BsB in it, making it a 3x2 unit. You only get +1 combat res for banners no matter how many you have in a combat, so unless they're both magical, there's no reason to bring two in the same unit.
The items on the bsb aren't quite my taste... Virtue of Discipline is a fighter's virtue, but without a lance a bsb isn't quite up to the task. He's more of a unit assist kinda guy, virtue of duty and war banner will give that unit a +3 combat res from him alone.
Get a damsel instead of the general Paladin, your knights already have the same leadership as him, and having two paladins in such a small force is sorta redundant. You can either field her on foot with the bowmen (who are probably going to be left alone in the back as your knights rush forth, and so needs her sweet lovin ld7 real bad) or mounted in the lance to displace the middle knight, giving it more attacks on the charge.
Nice idea. I think i'll try that.
