So Warhammer Forge released some new chaos dwarf models and in the small box in the end, it says they will be included in the new book Warhammer Tamurkhan: Throne of Chaos. I remember reading the article GW put on their site conscerning this and I'm wondering what this thing really is. From what i understood it's going to be a combination of all the Chaos groups. Chaos Dwarfs, Warriors of Chaos, Deamons of Chaos, Beasts of Chaos (only me seeing a connection?). Or will this lead to a new Chaos Dwarf codex?
If a mod thinks this should be in the Rumours section do what is needed ^^"
It's basically a combination of 'Imperial Armor' and 'Apocalypse' for WHFB. The rumor is that there will be 4 books, one for each of the chaos gods, and each book will follow their story in the coming conflict. This is a replacement for the old summer Worldwide Campaigns (Storm of Chaos) and will move the timeline of the game ahead somewhat.
If I recall, the Chaos is spreading and launching a massive attack into the south.
Nurgle- attacking into the New World, although I'm surprised that it's not Slaanesh doing this for the Dark Elves.
Khorne- I believe he's just walking south and beating on the Old World. This is where the Chaos Dwarfs come in, since they are marching to meet his armies.
Tzeentch- Although I can't confirm it, I think he marches towards Cathay and the East. Possibly new models for those lines in the future?
Slaanesh- I haven't heard anything about him at all.
The Chaos Dwarfs are getting their huge siege weapons and a train, while the forces of good are getting a few larger set pieces- I think that the Empire flying galleon is the cards somewhere along the line.
This is the final nail in the coffin for Chaos Dwarfs ever receiving another official armybook. GW has phased them out almost entirely, and it's rare that you ever see anything from ForgeWorld make it's way into print in a GW book. At the moment, Chaos Dwarfs look like they're going to be joining the ranks of Chaos Warriors as a mercenary type army. Not that I'm unhappy about this in any way- CD have warmachines, WoC have NO shooting. It's a win-win for us.
But is this meant for next summer then? If its now, it will come the same time as Storm of Magic which might be what they intend to do.
Does this mean you can have mono-god lists then? I mean a list thats completly made out of Nurgle or something?? If thats the case then my wallet will weep silver tears >.<
This does shed some new light on the expansion. I had just thought it was going to be a new Hordes of Chaos but this seems so much more interesting. Anything that advances/explores the fluff just makes me all tingly and warm inside. And new army lists and what not helps alot indeed ^^
Since Empire, Chaos and now Chaos Dwarfs got new Forge World models i guess, as you speculated, that everyone else will get something new as well.
I still wonder if this new book is going to compliment Storm of Magic in any way.
What do you mean about the infernal guard not being cool? They're AMAZINGLY good!
For 15 points you get a WS 4, S5, T4 infantry unit that has a S4 AP shooting attack too, and they have a great armour save too. Much better than their dwarf equivalent!
