I know there are alot of bonuses for been in a horde, but why dont they make a large target for shooting, say 50 men (most armies posted seem to have a unit like this) make a much bigger target than a dragon, Im sure any archer with even basic training has a chance at hitting at least 1 of 50 men marching in a unit towards him
Not sure what your point is here. Are you arguing there should be some sort of bonus for shooting a Horde as opposed to a Dragon? Because there is - the Dragon is a Flier, which automatically makes him a Skirmisher, which means that Ballistic Skill-based attacks against him are at -1 to hit. If you're talking about template attacks, the larger footprint makes sure the Horde is easier to hit already (though also quite able to shrug off most casualties a single hit would inflict). Or are you referring to their ability to beneift from cover, perhaps? This is also handled by the fact that the majority of the models have to be obscured by cover for them to benefit.
Misread one of the rules, or remembered an old one, I thought when targetting large targets you got a +1 on shooting, another check of the rules and Ive noticed they dont
I was saying as a large target maybe there should be a +1 modifier on rolls to hit a horde as the chances of hitting are alot more than a smaller unit
Yeah, all Large Target does now is disallow cover from obstacles - a very minor deal.
