Yeh I'm a newb I just don't know the difference between the two.(exept for the fluff)
Well Tomb Kings is very like mummies and Egyptian type of soldiers . "Reanimated by the undying Liche Priests, the skeletal warriors of the Tomb Kings" ... you know that type of thing.
Vampires raise the dead. They have Wights, Wraiths, Skeletons, Zombies, Ghouls, Bat Swarms, and Dire Wolves all flock to the Vampire’s banner. You know spooky types of things.

But what about playing style?
theyre playing style is very different:
vampire counts can get some insanely powerful lords and heroes, and these are used in conjunction with their large units to break your hard hitters.
they can summon up new units which are then used for march blocking, charging in the flank etc.
bot tomb kings, while still hero based dont have as powerful heroes, but more magic. each guy knows all 4 of their spells, even the combat heroes do. they dont use powerdice exactly but instead cast automatically at a level of 3d6 for high priests, 2d6 for priests or 1d6 for princes.
they use their magic to get around you and manouvre well, they dont have as many hard hitters as vampire counts but instead have some shooting, including a catapult.
another of their spells allow units to shoot in the magic phase (and again in the shooting)
and while they cant make new units like the counts they can restore any of their own ones (like their giants etc)
lets agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours are
