I'm to warhammer and have just about chosen what army i want (lizardmen is my current choice) but i feel some trepidation. I have heard rumors to the effect of a new edition coming out this year for fantasy which means a new rulebook and of course new army books (eventually) so my question is this: Should i get the army book and just start playing and buy the new stuff in less than a year (and possibly have minis be made obsolete) or wait until the dust has settled somewhat? A freind and myself are anxious to start we just dont want to waste any money. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'd say go for it, i just did and spent £400 getting into FB, although i only spent £10 on my rulebook and army books(saved £38 knowing new book is around the corner). Lizard men were updated recently i think, if you like the current minis they cant really become obsolete
Ye, I'd say get all you want apart from the current rulebook. Plus (in the UK) if u buy the starter set, (which is only really useful if either of u are doin empire or orcs) you get the new rulebook free when it comes out!
The models and the army books will be valid for a long time. The models especially.
So the BRB is the only thing you really need to worry about. It's a few months yet i believe so it might be worth seeing if you can pick up one on the cheap. Ebay for instance.
ok thanks for the help as soon as out of the red im going to jump in head first
