    hi all,

i have been collecting bretonnians for three years now and now the army book is out i wanted to do somet a little different that didn't involve monty python!!! so i decided on a crusading force using the colours and knights of the second/third crusade i.e templar knights, knights hospillter(sp?) and therefore will have good ol Richard as my general, but i was wondering if anyone had any info on the heraldry of the knight classes if you would call it that, pretty sure that the templar are basically "christs knights" with the cross, but what about colours??? plz help all.

    Thank you.

P.S. this crusading force will obviously contain mystical pegasus knights. ooooohhhhhhh

Well, i think the crusading knights had those shields with white background and a red cross on it. You can put crosses on the horsebarding aswell. Seen an army with crusading-theme.. think it was on that Bretonnian site.. Whats its name? Most popular one?

Yep the knights of that crusade were English, thus they wore the English flag as their surcoat (English Flag = White background with a Red cross). I suppose you could try varying it for the three knight types ie Errant Knights with Plain white, Knights of the Realm with one cross on either horse or clothes/shield and the Grail Knights with a cross on each.

And hey this sounds like a cool idea, I hope you can post pics? I would love to see them.

Errr... The white shield with the cross on it was actually guarded by the White Knight, and it was being kept safe until Sir Lancelot (i think it was him) came and got it. Which he, of course, did.

This is taken from the Arthurian legends.

I see no reason for why they should put a midget on their backs ._.
Then again, i see no reason for why they should put children on their backs.
Maan, that model must look silly.

Maybe they are babysitting questing knights? Babysitting is a quest.
