Well, I was thinking about doing a 1k Wood Elf list, and I might in the future, but it got me thinking... An evasive shooty HE force. Might work vs my DE friends 1k army, or just work in general, perhaps =D .
Well, the Commander resides between the two RBTs at the base of my deployment, with the Archers are next to the RBTs again. The Reavers deploy on either side of them again, and the Shadow Warriors go in a wood or just to an extreme flank.
Dodge the enemy alot, fireing shots at them. Taking out DRiders, Shades, Mage, Chariot will be no1 task for everything, while the RBTs and Commander fire at the CoK from the get-go. When the CoK are weak (3 or less models), the Reavers will rear/flank charge it and hopefully break it.
HArmour, Shield, Reaver Bow, Halberd, Talisman of Protection
5 Ellyrian Reavers
Spears, Bows, Musician
5 Ellyrian Reavers
Spears, Bows, Musician
10 Shadow Warriors
Total: 998 pts
Thoughts are as always welcome =P .
The only problem w/ this is that you'll get ripped apart if you get into close combat
Admir, he said mainly against DE. They have the same WS/BS as HE.
I highly doubt this would work.. its too risky. If they get close (i think they will) Yer screwed! Might be lucky and hit with all RBT-shots and stuff like that.. who knows
Well i have one HE army that ist totally evasive hehe. I have been using this army for experiments before i enter a local campaign and i can say i have done several massacres agains, 3 types of Chaos armys, Dark Elfs, Tomb Kings, Orcs, and finally the most dangerous oponent, Vampire Counts.
here it goes.
1 Mage - lvl 2, pure of heart, channeler, silver wand, ring of fury, elven steed, lore of Light/Fire (if you are battling agains a enemy that you know its going to have toons of models in play, take fire, else take light, you can slow his heavy units down so you can soot them more times) - 192 points
1 Mage - lvl 2, channeler, dispel scroll/power stone(depends on your oponent being heavy on magik or not), jewel of the dusk, elf steed, lore of High magic - 187 points
5 First Silver Helms - heavy armour, shield, standard, captain, Lion Standard/War Banner (depends if your up against fear units like tomb kings or vampires) - 168 points
12 Swordmasters - standard, bladelord, Banner of Sorcery/Standard of Balance (depends if your up against fear units like tomb kings or vampires, those 1D3 power dices really come in andy) - 230 points
10 Archers - with nothing extra
1 Repeater Bolt Thrower - nothing to explain here.
Well it may seam a sorth of unbalanced army, with only 2 reliable units, SH and SWM, but you have a huge mobility. if you take the Banner os Sorcery you get from 8 to 10 power dices +2 from the power stone if you take it. plus the ring of fury.
From experiance even if your oponent takes 6 dispel dices and dispell scrolls. he cant stop many of your spells, and you still have all the shooting.
let him advance and run with your wizards behind him and keep bruning and shooting, if anything tries to catch one of your wiz, just charge it with the SE.
well you have to try it.
against Tomb kings and Specially Vampire Counts, concentrate all your fire power on the skells unit. normally you finish off one entire unit plus something in the first turn. and with luck, they have a mage inside that unit thats going down too. dont ever let them grow, or move a lot.
Its been working for me.
PS: i have burned 17orcs of a 20 orc unit with one spell hehehe, it was fun.
I like your 1st army list alot - the idea of it.
Dont be discourage my friend, its good - Unless your opponant KNOWS what you are going to put out and what you have.
If this is the case, there is no point playing <_<
I love playing against ppl who play a fix list.. who doest go "oo look u got no solid reigments, i shall take out my ### and use %%% instead"
So back to your list..
2RBT <--- gonna kick some serious ass
Use a mage as a general, and to guard your magic. Lvl 1 is good enuff - if you only wanna do dispelling.
try 2 x 10 archers
Maybe you wanna look closely into your reavers, maybe switch 1 unit to Silver helms.
Shadow warriors, maybe u wanna trash them to fund more points on yr calvary units. Cos your opp. is SURELY going towards yr RBT line. Take this as an advantage.. he will come. and now.. u must think of how break him. :w
