We used to have a list of common abbreviations for WHFB and all the armies.
Is anyone up for concocting one?
Cut, paste, and edit to your hearts content. What sort of information do you think should be included? I'm thinking units, magic items, and the like.
We can use these categories for starts:
Common Magic Items
? Do we even need this category?
Beasts of Chaos - BoC
Bretonnia - Brets
Chaos Dwarfs - CD
Dark Elves - DE
Dogs of War - DoW
Dwarfs - DAWI?
High Elves - HE
Hordes of Chaos - HoC
Lizardmen - LM
Ogre Kingdoms - OK
Orcs and Goblins - O&G
Note: Personally I don't like the ampersand (&).
Skaven - ?
Tomb Kings - TK
Vampire Counts - VC
Wood Elves - WE
Heirlooms of Athel Loren
Hail of Doom Arrow - HoDA
Helm of the Hunt - HotH
Bow of Loren - BoL
Wand of Wych Elm - WoWE (or just WOW!)
Annoyance of Netlings - AoN
Cluster of Radiants - CoR
Murder of Spites - MoS
You know whats easier and quicker, not using Abbreviations, its quicker for people who have no idea what they mean, so I am against this Abbreviation stuff, forever, just thought I would say.
When talking about the Lizardmen I tend to use the following abbreviations;
CoR - Cold one riders
JSoD - Jaguar Saurus o' Doom
Steg - Stegadon
bs of ... - Blessed Spawning of...
Others which aren't exclusive to the lizardmen would be
BSB - Battle Standard Bearer
CoS - Cult of Slaanesh (although there are probably other things which would fit)
That's what I can think of at the moment, no doubt I will return with some more when they come to me!
Some people do use abbreviations in their posts, so a guide might help them out. Plus it's just the sort of geeky task that appeals to me.

Wouldn't this be better on a per army basis in each forum? The list is going to be vast, otherwise and difficult to get straight to the info you want.
Each army is going to have anything up to and above 20 abbreviations, so bear that in mind.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone

First, stick a thread in each forum that, once it's complete, we'll link to in the index and then unstick.
Second, complete it here, divvy up the sections into different threads, and then link to them in each index.
There could still be a master list linked to in the fantasy index, one with all the abbreviations.
I think this option is the best, as I think it's the one people will respond to most. Members who don't view every fantasy thread usually visit their respective army's forum, so are more likely to see said sticky and post in it.Originally Posted by DavidVC04
