Welcome to Librarium Online!
These probably aren't fair questions to ask, but here goes.
What core unit in which army do you think is the best for its point value? That question may be broad, so I'll try and limit it a few ways.
What core archer/missile unit is the best point value?
What core skirmishing unit is the best point value?
What core infantry unit is the best point value?
Which are the worst?
What do you think are the worst rare units out there? (Can you say "Waywatchers"?)
What is the best Regiments of Renown unit?
I don't know much about most of them, but I would have to say the boltthrower is best for warmachines, and chaos marauders have the best value
Hi David, I haven't played fantasy that much, but in my experience of watching a lot of battles, I think
Chaos marauders are point for point one of the best bargains for core troops in the game.
That's really all i have.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
My favorite core skirmishers would be Skinks, at 6pts a model, multiple shots and poison attacks, skinks can take down core units and rare units alike(like 3 rat ogres in 1 turn )
I think that Wood Elf Glade Guard are possibly the best archers in the game with their str 4 longbows at short range. I also think that Skink Blowpipes really get you your bang for your buck.
I find chameleon skinks slightly useless, an expensive skink that is barely better than a normal skink.
Theres my Ideas, Armadillo
Glade Guard are the best archers, though not necessarily the best core missile troop. With no movement penalty to their high ballistic skill, the woodies drop str 4 shots at short range. Tomb Kings have a big advantage, always hitting on 5's, but I still think GG are better. Dark Elves have those nasty crossbows, but luckily for us, they can't move and shoot.
I think the best core missile troop might be dwarf thunderers. With their weapons' Str 4, armor-piercing shots, thunderers can really bring the pain. And the superior craftsmanship rules offsets their rather average ballistic skill.
Glade guard are great. Thunderers are really devastating but expensive. At the moment I'm kinda leaning toward the humble Empire handgunner - cheap and effective^_^What core archer/missile unit is the best point value?Well...I do like skinksWhat core skirmishing unit is the best point value?Hmmz, I have a number of candidates here. What core infantry unit is the best point value?
An Orc boy, an Empire Swordsman, a Saurus Warrior, a Dwarf Warrior, a Clanrat, a Chaos Marauder. I might think of some more later
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

Yeah, it's a really tough question. Each unit does something unique for its own army list.
We'd have to agree on some standards for judgment...
Like infantry, how would we rate them? Base cost. Upgrade options and costs. If they will actually kill anything. What else?
