Hello, at the moment I am trying to decide between starting Bretonnians or Ogres, while I like the idea and theme behind the Ogre Kingdoms army, they seem rather poor in game terms (Little armour, extremely expensive ranks), and the fact they appear realativly easy to paint (partly due to their low numbers).
On the other hand Bretonnians also seem like a very interesting army, which suffers less from the Combat resolution issues of the Ogres. But they appear more difficult to paint.
So i guess my questions would be:
1: Which is a more competant army for a new player (ie: easy and forgiving to play)
2: Are bretonnians TOO difficult to paint to a half-decent standard for someone who hasnt painted before.
3: Just any other comments on the two armies.
I like the models and ideas behind the Ogres. I think the Bretonnian models are among the worst in the game, but that's just me ^_^
In gaming terms I think the Brets are the stronger though, I think Brets are a strong army compared to anyone, so in that respect I would vouch for the Brets
