I was wondering if you guys and gals could help me. Me and a friend have just started Fantasy (He plays High Elves) and i bought skull pass. I only have the stuff in the box and nothing else.
So my question is this. Which army should i use? I have a 1 unit of gobbos painted but that doesnt really matter. I have heard Dwarves are very good in large point games but terrible in small point ones. Is this true?
Any help much appreicated,
Personally, I say all-goblin armies stink. One failed leadership test, and panic can run down the line. The problem is that you're going to fail lots of ld tests. Goblins run willy nilly all the time.
I'd go with dwarfs. But I'm biased, because I have gone with dwarfs.
It really depends on what you like playing
I use both Gobbos and Dwarfs (HE are my personal fav though )
If you want to go all Gobbos - then go for Night Goblins, large Night Goblin units with Fanantics can be greatly devastating to most opponents - though just using the Gobbos from skull pass isnt really usful at all as you dont get the same 'feel' of a real Night Goblin army
---on another note it is important to remember that Night Golbins are more a fun army rather than serious - but they dont 'stink' they are very effective when played right
Dwarfs on the other hand are an extreamlly potent army, especially at the High point cost games, they are toughness 4 or greater, get more dispell dice than any other race, can carry more dispell scrolls (well runes XD) then any other race, and also have some of the best runes to make weapons and armour - but at lower point costs theres not too mu7ch you can do with them.
The Dwarfs you get in Skull Pass are an ok start but imo dont do the stout drunks justice, you get a handfull of ranged and CC dwarfs when in reality you need a more than just 10 Thunderers and 12 Warriors (Though the miners are excellent)
If you want to just use figure from the skull pass set, then use Dwarfs against HE, the natural High toughness and magical resistance will be a great bane to your friend. Though personally Id go for my Night Gobbo army any day (15 fanatics in 1k points XD)
units that panic from shooting dont panic other units any more, 7th edition rules:w00t:
