Plz some suggestions on a good starters army in Warhammer Fantasy for a player that usually plays 40k.
i guess some imperial army would be a good starter...
but all in all, it all depends on wot u like...
aliens, breeds, chaos....
What do you play in 40K?
Or rather what do you like in 40K and warhammer in general (hvy armor, light armor, lots'o'guys, not'so'lots'o'guys, etc.)

Yer - agreed, dark elves look and are cool. They can do some real damage too. An effective army on the whole. BTW sunspoon what did u choose in the end?
A Promise to a dead man means nothing.
Dark Elves are not a beginner's army. They are a purely tactical force and take a while to master. Although, they have the best online community in the world for them: www.druchii.net It's unparalled.
Good beginner armies: Dwarfs, Chaos, Empire, Lizardmen, and Orcs (despite the fact they could fall apart very quick). Vampire Counts, High Elves and Wood Elves are also good for beginners, to a slightly lesser extent.
Dark Elves, Tomb Kings, and oddly enough, Skaven tend to be harder armies to play (although each are VERY devastating in the right hands). Skaven aren't too bad, but you need to learn the ideas behind supporting units, screening units, using lots of slaves, etc to get them to play great.
