So the hanging tree scneario of the nemisis crown campaign has me frusterated. Essentially you must destroy this tree, and if you do your side wins, if not you loose...the problem is that it has 30 wounds, T8, 8 attacks, strength 6, WS 5 and is unbrekable, has magic resistance 3, and automatically passes all characteristic tests....
even with 5000 points on each side it seems an impossible task to destroy this behemoth...especially as the nemissis multiplayer battle rules dont allow your team mates to dispel spells which are directed at you, allowing multiple opponents to overwhelm one other player (for example, targeting cannons or other dangerous units)
does anyone have ANY advice for how to win this game??? aside from trying to show up with 5 empire players with 2 great cannons each?
I just played the scenario at my local game store and the game went down to the wire. The forces of darkness included Ogre Kingdoms (me), Chaos, and Night Goblins. The forces of light included Wood Elves, Empire, and Dwarves. The empire brought two great cannon, the dwarves brought two cannons and an organ gun. With a potential 18 points of damage to the tree each turn, it didn't look good for the forces of darkness. Misfires, missed guess ranges, and a Gorger eliminating one cannon proved just enough to win the day, as the tree ended up with 1 point left at the end of turn 6. Any more than 4 cannon on the forces of light side would pretty much guarantee a victory.
